Behind the lens…
My name is Jasmine, mother of 2 (or 7 if you count the animals) and the heart behind Linnea Collective. I’m a freelance photographer based in North Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast & beyond.
Before photography, and still to this day, I am a beauty therapist & nail technician. I’ve been running my own nail studio for the past 4+ years, where creativity has always been a huge part of what I do, just in a slightly different form.
Outside of photography & nails, I love pottery painting, nature, animals & music, of course. My dream would be to own a hobby farm, travel the world and continue creating in whatever form that might take.
The story of Linnea Collective…
Linnea Collective began while I was on maternity leave with my twin girls.I remember watching them grow by the day and constantly thinking about how much I wished I could freeze those little moments in time, not just how they looked, but how that season of our lives felt.
I already owned a digital camera but found myself drawn to the nostalgic feeling of film and wanted something that could bring a little of that into the photographs I was taking. That’s when I bought my first Fujifilm camera.
I quickly fell in love with photography. Capturing the little in between moments, the movement and the connection that make a memory feel like a memory.
Even the name holds a little piece of my story. My daughters are named Zinnia and Leilani, both inspired by flowers. I stumbled across the name Linnea, which almost felt like a combination of their two names and discovered that Linnea is also the name of the twinflower.With my twin girls being the reason I picked up my camera in the first place, it felt like it was meant to be.
And that’s really what Linnea Collective is about. Preserving the seasons of life that seem to pass far too quickly, so you have something that lets you return to them, even years from now.
